A MEETING WITH POOH BEAR: NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY

Whilst applying for jobs it is nice to take a break and look back at summer memories. Also this post seems quite fitting as it was on this day in 1926 that Winnie-the-Pooh by AA Milne was first published.

Visiting New York Public Library was one of the highlights of my America trip. There was an exhibition on the theme of why children's books matter: their development and influence over time. One of the most exciting displays was the original Winnie the Pooh which inspired his (Pooh bear's, that is) creator.

If I could visit a library as magnificent as this one to collect my story books I think I would pitch up a tent and reside between the wooden bookshelves like a bookworm.
